The Mice Told Me

I may not hear their words

But I feel them

Watch every fiber of their being

Reveal them

Sing unspoken to their friends

Said it was nonsense

Then a chimp spelling Hebrew

Confirmed it

Made it all click into place

How do you know this?

The mice told me

He spelled out

That reaffirmed it

Humans, mice and chimps

You heard it

All share a language

I've learnt it

Share in my awe today

In what they say

They certainly have gone and earnt it.

  1. Mice chatter to each other all day long, trust me..

  2. Bow and I knew this long before science found out. Bow was the reason I knew I could trust myself and ignore those who didnt understand! I know Bow is communicating with his keeper this way, even if no one else believes it. He complained about the mice, then came back to his keeper upset they were screaming. He could hear what I felt in the labs. https://notesfromthepens.blogspot.com/2015/04/throwback-thursday-bow-and-mice.html

A Marriage of Science & Mysticism

Fifteen Types of Mental Imagery and Vividness Ranges

Update Feb 2025:  There is now a dedicated space for this type of discussion off of my poetry blog and over over at:   mentalimageryresistance.co.uk   Hopefully this clarified advocacy paper makes more sense to people than my ramblings here:  Locating Unifying Language: Multiple Intelligences, Mental Sensory Perception, and Mental Imagery .  For the Record:  I am no authority on this matter. I am an independent researcher and advocate for more clarity in the language and definitions used in mental imagery research. Raising awareness of the need for more research into what those with multisensory aphantasia possess .  Introduction to the Proposed Framework The new framework that I have presented, designed to help with understanding mental imagery, now includes fifteen distinct modalities ( what I call 'yedas'—a long story short, my mind worked backwards from the need to find language for the imagery I do possess—despite having global aphantasia—to the ...

A Transgenic Note

Transgenic mutants  are deliberately deformed, disabled and disordered for animal research purposes. We can create human-animal chimeras, put human DNA into every cell of a mouse, make cells glow green with jellyfish protein, just to be sure, but no amount of human DNA in a mouse will turn it into a human. No matter how much that mouse thinks it might be able to identify with minute aspects of being human, it cannot. It will always be a mutant of a mouse, exploited for biotech gain. Humanized mice do not get human rights.  Law and language for transgenic animals and other such biotech mutants is important and nomenclature is complex . The breeding, movement and welfare of animals under such procedures must be monitored and regulated for the welfare and integrity of both wild and lab lines. Law and language applies differently to animals outside of laboratories, for good reason. Transgenic mutants are covered by the basic animal welfare laws, but they also have ASPA (1986), t...

Raising awareness of the need for more research into what those with multisensory aphantasia possess .  Dr. Adam Zeman is a pioneering figure in the study of aphantasia, the inability to produce mental imagery. In a recent discussion with him, I explored the evolving understanding of this fascinating condition, its terminology, and the spectrum of experiences associated with it. Dr. Zeman defines aphantasia as the lack of mental imagery . Initial...
